To celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday, His Excellency Lieutenant General Edward Davis CB CBE in collaboration with the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society is proud to announce ‘The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration Concert.’
The concert is sponsored by the Gibraltar Asset Management, Huber&Co. Ltd. and SG Hambros Bank (Gibraltar) Limited.
Described by Musical Opinion as “an outstanding artist”, Benjamin Nabarro has performed throughout Europe, North America, Africa, and the Middle and Far East, as a violin soloist, guest concertmaster, director and conductor. He has performed with the BBC Symphony, BBC Scottish Symphony, English Chamber and Scottish Chamber Orchestras, and with the Philharmonia, where he played Scherezade under the baton of Charles Dutoit. His concerto performances have won praise for their “purity of style, elegance of phrasing and unsurpassed perfection of technique” (Musical Opinion).
The European Sinfonietta is primarily known for its work as a touring orchestra throughout Europe. Since its highly successful first tour of Spain in 1992, the orchestra has gone on to perform at all major concert halls in this country including the Auditorio Nacional of Madrid, the Palau de la Musica of Barcelona and Valencia and the Auditorio Manuel de Falla of Granada.

100 free tickets will be available for members of the Public who may wish to attend this Philharmonic Concert. His Excellency the Governor invites all interested to take the opportunity to apply and avail themselves of the opportunity to attend this special event.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday 23rd June, after which date a draw will be held to determine the allocation of tickets. Successful applicants will be contacted shortly thereafter to collect their tickets from the Convent.
