The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society invites to enjoy a Song recital on Thursday 19th November at the Convent Ballroom at 8pm. The Concert will feature baritone Paul Armin Edelmann and pianist Charles Spencer.

Paul Armin Edelmann’s association with music began at an early age as the second son of the internationally renowned singer Otto Edelmann. As a child, he was a member and soloist of the famous Vienna Boys’ Choir. Later on he reinforced his musical studies by studying voice with his father at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Shortly after completing his studies he became a member of the Opera Theatre in Koblenz in Germany where he sang over 30 roles. He has worked with such well-known conductors as Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Lorin Maazel, Paolo Carignani, Kazushi Ono, Miguel Gómez Martínez, Julia Jones, Karel Mark Chichon, Vladimir Fedosejew, Leopold Hager, Manfred Honeck and singers like Elina Garanca, Renata Scotto, Juan Diego Florez, Jose Cura, Michael Schade, Angela Denoke, Simon Estes, and many other fantastic singers.
The pianist Charles Spencer was born in Yorkshire, England. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Max Pirani, during which time he was awarded numerous prizes, culminating in a scholarship from the Austrian Government to further his studies in Vienna with Walter Fleischmann, Noel Flores and Robert Schollum and attend master classes by Vlado Perlemuter and Geoffrey Parsons. He graduated from the Vienna Hochschule für Musik with unanimous distinction and was awarded the prize for artistic merit by the Austrian Government.
