In association with Parasol Foundation, Felix Klieser – french horn and Christof Keymer – piano will be the featured artists of the second concert of the 2015/2016 Gibraltar Philharmonic Society season in a french horn recital on Tuesday 20th October 2015 at 8:00pm, at the Convent Ballroom.
Robert Schumann: Adagio and Allegro in A-flat major op. 70 for horn and piano
Richard Strauss: Andante in C major for horn and piano op. posth.
Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonata for horn and piano in F major op. 17
Reinhold Glière: Four Pieces for horn and piano op. 35
Josef Gabriel Rheinberger: Sonata in E-flat major op. 178 for horn and piano
The award-winning young horn player Felix Klieser (1991) – who was born without arms and works the keys of his instrument with his feet is working on a second album and has a diary full of concert bookings. Felix Klieser recently became an ambassador for the One-Handed Musical Instrument Trust (OHMI), which helps fund the development of adapted or specially designed instruments for musicians with one hand and other limb differences.
He began studying horn at the age of five in his hometown Göttingen. At the age of 17, Felix Klieser enrolled in Prof. Markus Maskuniitty’s class at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. From 2008 until 2011 Felix Klieser was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Germany (Bundesjugendorchester) where he frequently performed at major venues such as Berlin Philharmonie, Beethovenhalle Bonn, Köln Philharmonie and Philharmonie am Gasteig München. He also participated in numerous productions by the Westdeutsche Rundfunk and has undertaken tours to Austria, Italy, Switzerland and South Africa among others.
